The granulometry is a physical property that has significant impact in the behavior and performance of products and formulations. For that reason, it is crucial to measure properly and accurately the material particle granulometry.
The material granulometry measurement permits you to understand its physical and chemical properties. It is crucial in many domains such as:
- building materials: the granulometry directly affects the strength of final materials such as cement for example,
- additive manufacturing: the grain size and the identifying the inner grain porosities permit to avoid the generation of porosities after the additive manufacturing melting process,
- metals: grains alloys distribution permits to demonstrate the integrity and the quality of metals. The bigger grains are, the less rigid and the more ductile the metal will be.
