Fibre segmentation Reactiv’IP developped a tool able to segment overlapping fibres. The fibres were positionned between two plexiglas slides and the image was acquired with a computer scanner. Fibre segmentation The application presents several challenges: fibres are flat, translucent and overlap each other. These difficulties make usual segmentation approaches useless. Results and measures This application automatically provides the number of fibres, their length, their thickness and their orientation.
