Connected porosity computation

In many geophysical or materials applications, distinguishing pores that are touching the sample boundaries (through-porosities) and those that are not is important. With this script, we propose an automatic analysis to identify regions of interest connected with boundaries, using geodesic propagation.

By default, edges are determined according to image boundaries. But to adjust to the sample contours, it is possible to apply a binary mask. In this case, the mask must be supplied as a second input image to this macro.

The download package includes a macro that can be used for both 2D images and 3D volumes. The porosities must be provided as a binary image. This script can be imported into IPSDK Explorer as a macro. The new command will then be directly available from the Macro section.
